A native of Waterloo, Mike young joined DBSH in 2004 after practicing law for several years in Chicago, Illinois. Mike, a Partner in the firm, is engaged in the General Practice of Law including but not limited to Real Estate, Business, and Corporate Law. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Christian University in 1998, majoring in Finance, and received his law degree in 2001 from the University of Iowa College of Law.
Mike is licenced to practice law in Iowa and Illinois. He is currently a member of the Iowa State Bar Association and Black Hawk County Bar Association. He is also involved with the Black Hawk County Bar Real Estate Committee.
Mike was elected to the Waterloo Community School District Board of Education in 2007. In 2010, he was elected President of the school board. He has also served on the City of Waterloo Planning, Programing & Zoning Commission since 2008.
Mike is an active member of his church, is a member of the Waterloo Downtown Rotary Club and Spokesman Club, and serves on the board of directors of the Waterloo Community Schools Foundation, Young Family Foundation, Waterloo Cemetery Association, and the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum/H.W. Grout Museum District.
Mike was honored in 2007 as a recipient of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier’s “Twenty Under Forty” award, which recognizes up-and-coming business and community leaders in the Cedar Valley.
